It's a good deal for a short stay. Simple, clean and with the expected space for europe standard. I had good time with my family with no problems. It's 15 min walk to oxford and 10 min walk from paddington station which is a big plus.
The only thing is towels. They just never change them no matter what you do. Overall, I would choose it again versus risking another hotel.
Loved the location. We had a newly refurbished room. Very nice.
Our friends stayed in the rooms that hadn't been refurbished and they weren't very nice. There was a woman at the front desk that did alot of yelling on the phone. She seemed to be right about what she was saying to the customers on the phone, but it was still a little intimidating listening to her, knowing we had to hand her our key or ask her a question. We all laughed about it, she was friendly to us so maybe she was just having a bad couple of days, don't know! Wouldn't want to cross her. The steps to the rooms were extremely steep, but that's to be expected in an old building.
Staff were friendly and very accomodating, we arrived early our room was ready so we were allowed to check in early
Breakfast was poor, only white toast no brown, not much choice, time slot for breakfast was short,
Excellent location for shopping and transport links.
Whilst checking out, most hotels can store your luggage in a secure location while you do your own thing. The orchard hotel does store your belongings but in their front room with minimum security. To improve this they could gave you a receipt and keep this room locked.
The location was an excellent starting location for sightseeing
The english breakfast was barely enough to feed a child
Great location, clean, not luxury but good, breakfast included all the necessary, I can recommend to all looking for a quiet, nice hotel in the middle of London!
I like its location as well as its price.
The staff sometimes is unfriendly
The location was perfect it was near by the paddington train station ! and near by bus station as well ,, connected to edgwer road !
No elevators !
great value and right next to office
could do with tea/coffee in the room. breakfast was very limited.
Really good location in vibrant Paddington with lots of restaurants, pubs, shops and a laundry. Young female on the desk was very helpful. Breakfast was included.
Small rooms, poor WiFi for which there was a charge! The guy on night duty was very unhelpful. Breakfast was only continental style. Did not answer our email enquiry about storing our luggage.
I liked that the money I paid was well worth
Rooms are small
Due to lack of air conditioning in the room and the fact that the hotel does not provide fans made the visit extremely uncomfortable. We were unable to spend more than an hour in the room without sweating. We had to rely using cold wet towels to sleep. I would not recommend staying at this hotel more so in the summer! Reception staff were unhelpful.
clean and location
breakfast times ended to early
Very well located, fast downtown and also to Heathrow. The room very basic and very small, but very clean, so if you do not expect luxuries and the idea is to walk around the city, just to spend the night and take a shower is perfect. The breakfast was also the basics, but to start the day was OK too.
I would have appreciated a bit of cocoa for the kids at breakfast, even for a basic one, I don't think that they will go far from the budget. But hey, that's not terrible either.
The hotel is comfortable, staff are very helpful and friendly, the rooms are very clean, location is very convenient (10 minutes walk to Paddington station or Marble Arch).
The rooms are little bit tiny.
